Developing a Home fitness center with $1.5k

If I possessed $1,500 to invest on a home gym, I have a few concepts of what I’d purchase. I think 15 hundred is a great number because that’s essentially what it would cost to go to a good gym for just two years, and I figure home gym equipment should have fairly decent residual value, unlike a health club membership.

The very first thing I would buy is a good set of adjustable dumbbells. When you look for dumbbells for sale, the most important thing is finding a set that you can add weight onto without shelling out a lot. I think I possibly could find a good pair of dumbbells for approximately $ 50, plus possibly another fifty dollars of weights. So for $100 I would possess a nice set of dumbbells.

The next thing I would put money into is some Crossfit equipment such as an Olympic bar and bumper plates. For around $700 I could get a great barbell and a heavy set of bumper plates. Using this Crossfit gear I could truly lift heavy and build up some significant strength. I would need about $100 worth of plates though to add to the set in order to have sufficient weight for heavy dead lifts. Some people might recommend some Crossfit shoes to assist with stability on these types of lifts, but I’d save the cash for something different.

Another thing I would look for are some kettlebells for sale. I might not need more than 3 of them, so probably around $200 or so for what I need. Kettlebells are great because they put stress on the muscles in ways you don’t get with dumbbells or barbells because of the unusual shape they have.

Last but not least, I’d get a power rack. For around $500 I could find a good power rack and that would allow me to properly perform squats and presses, plus almost every power rack includes a pull up bar which is great for working on the back and biceps. I possibly could also add a dip bar later on for a few more bucks.
